SIMPLE SCONCES
Straightforward lighting provides striking contrast to the active Finnish wallpaper from the 1950s adorning the walls of the Manhattan apartment powder room, decorated by Katie Ridder. Hanging above a Waterworks sink, a FontanaArte mirror echoes the wall colour.
MID-CENTURY CHANDELIER
As a result of a pair of brother architects, this apartment on Paris's Right Bank includes a dark and moody aesthetic which upgrades classic French design for the 21st century. The master bath retains a 1960s chandelier, a 1950s dining table, and a Saarinen armchair. The market is clad in tiles the walls are of Italian marble, and the floor is tiled with gold-leafed-glass and marble mosaics.
DRIPPING CHANDELIER
Monique Lhuillier's bath in Bel Air showcases a custom-made lighting fixture by Foundry, white-oak cabinetry, and a picture by George Hoyningen-Huene.
VINTAGE ITALIAN CHANDELIER
The master bath of Alice Childress and Christopher Daniels's downtown Manhattan loft, designed with the help of Courtnay Daniels Haden, includes a classic Italian chandelier, an antique freestanding marble bathtub, along with an inherited 18th-century painting. The custom-made vanities are outfitted with Caesarstone countertops and Kohler sinks; the sink and bathtub fittings are by Barber Wilsons & Co.
UNDERSTATED CEILING LIGHT
Understated lighting allure to the minimum aesthetic of the bathroom in a contemporary Washington, D.C. house made by Darryl Carter. The dressing table hides drawers for storage.
